02/07/2010

Head Over Heels had a great meeting yesterday, several girls did their 4-H demonstrations, and Barb gave a brief discription of several different types of colic.
We went over the fees for the open show that is in 2 weeks, so if any one has questions, please ask them soon, as we are running out of time.
If you are having trouble with show clothes, let us know that too.
Remember, this is suppose to be fun, so if you are nervous, that's ok, use it to your advantage. Good luck to all of you and your horse partners!

The Seminole County 4-H benefit show is coming up on Saturday, February 20th. Attached is the list of classes along with the entry form. PLEASE note that I have printed these out for all of you except Hannah, Sydni, and Olivia as you all have show experience and can fill it out yourself. J I will talk with Barbara to see what classes she wants you all in. I do however need to ask if you are or are not planning on doing this horse show. I have outlined what fees you will have and in addition to these you will need the clothing to go with it…more on that below. As I told you all before, we want everyone to be able to show but understand finances. We are not trying to discourage anyone. If you don’t show, I hope that you will still join us to show support of the others in the club that are and perhaps we can sell horse treats.

At the next meeting I plan on having the check off list of things you need to show and will have some examples of stuff. We will bill up front for the items in red and the items in blue will be paid the day of the show.

Trailer fee: $75
Trainer fee: $50
Horse fee: $30
Braiding: $45 (not sure if we are or not)
TOTAL: $200

Classes: $10/per class
Stall: $20
Tack stall: $20 (we will divide this evenly amongst all showing which will be about $1.60 each if everyone shows)
Warm up fee: $10 (only if jumping)

***If you sold $500 in ads, remember unlimited # of classes and stall are free. I think you only have to pay for the warm-up but I am not 100% sure on that and then your share of the tack stall.

IMPORTANT FOR THOSE THAT DON’T HAVE SHOW CLOTHES or those that need more:
Tack Shack is having a used tack sale this coming Saturday. There should be all riding apparel available if anyone would like to go. We have the air potato raid till noon and can go there afterwards. I also have arranged for a few families that have used stuff to bring it to our next meeting. You will need a show shirt, show jacket, show pants (beige or khaki), boots, helmet, and garters (if under 12).
